Treat Treat was developed especially for sensitive skin. No additives, no preservatives, no glycerin, etc. are used, while pure and high-quality ingredients are used, such as natural “human-type” ceramide (see below).

What is Ceramide?

Ceramides are biogenic components found in the skin's outer layer (stratum corneum). Its function is to protect against moisture loss to keep skin both youthful and supple.

If we have it already why do we need more?

Stratum corneum consists of dead cells, therefore it gets shed by external stimulation such as sun damage and face wash as well as aging and stress, which means ceramide also gets depleted every moment. The loss of ceramide leads to sagging, wrinkles, and blemishes.

Not all ceramides are created equal. Many products formulated with ceramides are available on the market today. But did you know not all ceramides are the same? Most of the skincare products that advertise ceramides contain chemically synthesized products and pseudo-ceramides that resemble human ceramides because ceramides are expensive. Then there are “natural ceramides,” extracted from plants such as rice, konjac, and pineapple, but they do not have the same structure as ceramides found in the human body, and they are not used for skincare products. (Green in the diagram)

On the other hand, natural “human-type” ceramides are very similar to the human skin ceramides and natural at the same time.
